Part of the Ledger Love Collection. This original work on paper depicts the lifelong unconditional love of mother and child. As mothers we love our children with our entire hearts and beings, as we know they are sacred spirits.
In the Arikara creation story the first woman, a baby girl came from the union of the sacred star nation. She was the daughter of the Morning Star and the Evening Star. We are to look at our daughters and all children as precious as the first children. The four pointed star within the drawing represents this teaching.
